Two semi finals were run in each division with athletes qualifying for an A or B final. 10 seconds is added to an athletes overall time for each place in the final. 1st place A final = no time added, 2nd place 10 seconds, 3rd place 20 seconds. The first athlete in the B final receives 10 seconds more than the athlete finishing last in the A final.
