GIAAC 3.5 Mile Cross Country Race

After a close race Paul Ingrouille sprinted away from Chris Carre and Marcel Le Clerc to gain a narrow victory in the GIAAC's 3.5 Mile Cross country race held a Pembroke.

Jason le Ray and Steve Dawes got the race off to a brisk start but it was not until Le Clerc hit the front after half a mile that the leading pack split.

Ingrouille and Carre joined le Clerc at the front but with none of the runners committing themselves the pace steadied and the trio stayed together until the final stages.

With half a mile remaining Ingrouille gradually increased the pace and after reacting to a burst by Le Clerc sprinted clear to a 6 second victory. In his first race as a veteran Le Clerc was also overtaken by Carre on the run in.

"I just didn't have the confidence to commit myself earlier" said Le Clerc, who judging by his disappointment will remain as competitive as ever despite entering the veteran ranks.
