GIAAC Jones and Partners 2002 Winter League
Race 2 - 4.7 Mile Cross Country Pembroke
Sunday 20th Januay 2002

After a series of second places Steve Dawes eventually claimed the victory he richly deserved and took control of the top division of the Jones and Partners 2002 winter League. Dawes finished a minutes and a half clear of Gordon Mercier And clocked 28 minutes 13 seconds for the 4.7 Mile race. Marcus Prevel was third.

With last seasons champion Nick Despres likely to miss one further race Dawes is now in a strong position to win his first local title.

Sara Queripel was the leading woman claiming 9th overall from 50 starters. Tracey Queripel and Caroline Wickham were second and third women respectively. With Sara missing the league's opening race Tracey is the leading woman and takes her place at the top of division three.

John Addy and Alison Jefferies head divisions 2 and 5 respectively.

With only two races run placings are predictably tight and Kevin Le Noury is the only divisional leader with a sizeable margin over his nearest challenger. Le Noury leads Jenny Elliott by five points at the top of division 4.
