With one race remaining Nick Despres has already sealed Division 1 of the six race GIAAC Jones and Partners Winter League. Despres' performances in this year¹s series seem to have grown stronger with each race and he established a massive winning margin of 3 minutes over the five mile Talbot Valley road loop.
Colin Ozanne took advantage of the absence of injury stricken Pete Wickins to claim second. With Wickins now having used up his one race 'discard' he will be forced to run the final race if he is to hold on the overall runners-up spot.
Pete De Bertrand had his best race of the season to place fifth overall and move clear of Tom Oliver to head Division 2. De Bertrand was helped by J-P Mace who passed Oliver in the final stages to split the two runners.
A consistent series of races has ensured that Nicole Inder will claim the Division five title. The hilly road course saw the veteran women athlete clock her first divisional victory but it has been her sequence of minor placings that has established a clear margin over her closest challenger, Emma Mourant.
The middle Divisions will go down to the wire and depend on the outcome of final one mile road race to be held at Vazon on April 8th.
