The final stage of the 1999 Guernsey Easter festival began with challenges to both mens and womens series leaders. At 1 1/2 miles Mike Hyde-Peters held a seven second advantage over Paul Green with the chasing pack featuring GIAAC's Mike Yarnall and Paul Ingrouille a further 18 seconds adrift. First woman through was Estle Viljoen 8 seconds clear of Amanda Purser and Kate Jenrick.

By three miles at the Bridge Green had closed the gap and turning the corner at Bordeaux was 13 seconds clear of Hyde-Peters who was beginning to pay for his early effort. Gade Vally's Paul Allen was just clear of the chasing group still featuring 5 runners. Viljoen's lead over Jenrick had widened to 23 seconds whilst Purser had dropped off Jenricks pace lagging 5 seconds behind.

At the turn around at the Vale Pond Green's lead was looking invincible whilst the strain on the chasing pack was beginning to show with Yarnall first to crack. Viljoen's lead at 38 seconds has also continued to widen but Purser with an eye on beating Jenrick to tie the series on points had limited the gap to a tantalising 12 seconds.

Entering Les Banques Green's lead was a massive 3 mins 20 seconds with Tim Beer 15 seconds clear of Pete Lucas but sheltering in his slipstream team mate Roy Smith was to claim third place at the finish. Green's finishing time of 68-17 made for an impressive half marathon debut whilst in the Ladies race it also took a PB from Jenrick to stay clear of the persistent Purser to hold on and win the series but finishing well behind Viljoen's solid 1-22-22.
