A scenic coastal run on a flat, fast course await runners in Guernsey's premier long distance summer road race. This popular competitive race attracts over 250 entries with visitors from the UK, France, Jersey and further afield joining a strong contingent of local runners.

Originally organised by the Hash House Harriers, the GIAAC took over in 2001 and is keen to encourage runners of all abilities to this event. Everyone is welcome from the sub 70 minute athlete to the 2 hour plus runner. Wheelchair athletes are also welcome. The race starts at 9.00 am at the southwest corner of the island outside the Imperial Hotel. Runners follow the main coastal road north for 9 miles before turning east across the top of the island then south to finish at Bulwer Avenue, just one mile or so outside the main town of St Peter Port.

Buses are organised enabling you to park near the finish and be taken out to the start.

With the prevailing wind in the island being from the southwest, fast times can be expected in the early stages, provided competitors are not tempted simply to stop and enjoy the island's many beautiful beaches as they pass! All in all, an enjoyable summer race in very attractive surroundings in the delightful island of Guernsey. Why not combine an enjoyable run with a short holiday with family or friends?
